About Us
OUR MISSION - BUILD STRONG INDEPENDENT DEALERS
CSA was founded in 1936 by industry leaders to help improve the business conditions of building material suppliers in Georgia and Alabama. Originally known as The Building Material Merchants Association, the organization changed its name to Construction Suppliers Association in 1992. Today, CSA is 200 members strong representing independent LBM retailer and wholesale lumber dealers and preservers, truss plants, hardware stores, electrical supply companies, millwork shops, and other companies supplying goods and services to building contractors.
Nearly 100 years later, CSA continues its mission to BUILD STRONG INDEPENDENT DEALERS. CSA has expanded its footprint from Georgia and Alabama to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. The majority of our members are multi-generational family-owned enterprises that have thrived in the world of big box competition because of their entrepreneurial spirit, grit and resilience — and with CSA’s support.
CSA is more committed than ever to ensure that the independent LMB Dealer sector thrives. We offer a wide variety of programs and services, including our unique Roundtable Series, safety programs and on-site reviews, in-person and virtual education workshops, and our Annual Meeting and Expo.
